Course Description
This course gives trainees a basic understanding of confined space hazards and the general requirements of the OSHA Confined Space Standard. Students will gain an understanding of:
- The differences between confined spaces and “permit-required” confined spaces
- The hazards associated with working in confined spaces
- How to protect themselves from these hazards
- Entry procedures
- Reclassification procedures
- Contractor requirements
- The confined space entry permit
- Training and duties of the entrant, attendant, and entry supervisor
- Rescue and emergency services
