The Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) course is designed to help safety professionals master the core competencies in the occupational safety and health field. COSS is ideal for those who are new to safety or someone looking for a refresher. The only prerequisite for COSS is a high school diploma.

Learning Outcomes:

• Identify hazards, determine regulatory requirements, and implement corrective actions
• Perform risk analyses for key jobs and processes
• Differentiate between safety audits and inspections
• Prepare and present effective safety training presentations
• Develop and maintain company safety programs

Virtual courses are offered in real-time with an expert instructor. Students will participate in five 6-hour online sessions. On the final day, there is an additional 2-hour session to complete the final graded activities.
